Katie Hampton

Katie Hampton is a writer, mother, partner, and PTSD survivor. She grew up riding horses in the Arizona desert, sucked inside a book, and elaborately fantasizing about being watched by a hidden audience (a la Truman show). These days you can find her crying every time she has to pick out a birthday card, making a lot of lists, and watching Wes Anderson movies on repeat. She lives outside of Tucson, AZ (by way of the Bay Area) with her husband and two children.

Morning person 🐇

They went to school today. Their first day in person since the pandemic began, and for Rowan, her first time ever at elementary school. Our district decided to go back in person and remove the online option. We feel conflicted, and return to school hopeful but not without significant hesitation. When the doors closed behind each of my children, I whispered a little prayer for their safety from beneath my mask. I love you, I love you. I am so proud of you both.
I want to remember today
When you stress-purchase a custom “FuckTrump” bendy straw on January 6 and it arrives on Inauguration Day 🇺🇸
you are worth caring for, your cells, your mind, your spirit. I hope you find moments to replenish the worn parts of yourself 🖤
Do it yourself.
